From 1st August 2007 all houses with more than four bedrooms that are marketed for sale will require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). From the 10th September 2007 this requirement will be extended to include all houses with three bedrooms and above. It is anticipated that before the end of 2007 all houses marketed for sale will require an EPC. My name is Paul Bell and I am a qualified and accredited Domestic Energy Assessor, I have substantial experience of energy use in houses having worked at this for nearly 30 years. I have worked for Universities, Research Centres and Wimpey Homes over this time. As well as having qualified with a DipDea, I have a PhD; awarded for research into the effect of moisture on heat-losses through insulated walls, I am a member of the Institute of Physics. I live in Surrey and so know the area well.
